About the Role

The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust are recruiting for a permanent Assistant Cook to work in their in-house school kitchen at St Mary's School based in Maynards Green near Horam in East Sussex. 

St Mary's School is a special school for pupils age between 10-16 years. The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are looking for an Assistant Cook TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE with the skills and ability to assist the Cook Supervisor in the preparation and cooking of school meals provided to pupils and staff.  The post holder will work as part of a small dedicated catering team following set menus and instructions.

You will be required to assist with the setting up service counters with correct service dishes, service equipment and monitor and supervise service of meals, snacks and other food items. You will work closely with the Cook Supervisor and the catering team to develop all aspects of the catering services offered at the school.   This role will also involve assisting with the clearing and cleaning of the kitchen, service and dining areas, also assisting with stock taking and recording and tracking information sometimes on a computerised system.

Hours of work are:

Mon –Thu 08.30am–2.30pm includes 15min break Fri - 08.30am -1.45pm includes 15 min break
