About the Role

Senior Social Worker opportunities in East Sussex

Discover tomorrow’s social work, today

We are looking for ambitious, creative and professionally curious Senior Social Workers to join our high achieving teams and make a positive difference to children, young people and families.

Our social work looks and feels different because we believe it’s relationships that matter. It’s less about statistics and targets and much more about putting evidence into practice and spending as much time as possible with children and families.

Our practitioners as well as children and families tell us that it works. Ofsted graded us good (2014) and we also received the Local Government Chronicle Award for Children’s Services Department of 2015.

In order to build those relationships we support our teams with:

- Flexible work practices supported by technology - tablets, smart phones and a modern case management system

- Access to the right help, advice and support - reflective supervision, consultations with child psychiatrists and psychologists

- Excellent evidence based team learning, online research tools and group supervision

- A great new training and development offer for our experienced staff in partnership with Sussex University

- Opportunities to move around the children’s social work teams; and

- Great career opportunities for staff with a new career framework being developed

We don’t just pay lip service to being a caring organisation, we prioritise supervision, offer an unrivalled training programme, a flexible career pathway and a package of benefits which will support you in a demanding role.

So if you have the drive to bring about change in the lives of children, we’d really like to hear from you.

Senior Social Worker vacancies regularly arise in the following teams:

- Locality Services based in Eastbourne, St Leonard’s on Sea and Lewes (includes Duty and Assessment, Family Support, Youth Support and Family Plus Teams).

- Children's Disability Service based in Eastbourne.

- Looked After Childrens’ Teams based in St Leonard’s-on-Sea, Lewes and Hailsham.

Please enquire regarding specific vacancies and indicate where you would like to work, what hours and in what team/specialism you are applying for when making your application.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
