About the Role

Lansdowne School has an excellent reputation; it is part of Lansdowne Secure Childrens Home that makes provision for up to 7 young people. Lansdowne School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, effective practitioner who is able to enthuse disengaged learners and ensure their progress in the core skills : Literacy and Numeracy.

The successful candidate will have experience of effective teaching and learning, primarily in Mathematics and English, and will demonstrate a proven track record of meeting the specific needs of learners and supporting them to reach their full potential.

You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons that have a positive impact on the engagement and self-esteem of the young people resident. You will also be able to identify where there is need for additional intervention through the establishment of a regular programme of monitoring attainment.

Lansdowne School provides a positive learning experience for vulnerable young people, aged 11-17 who go on to make excellent progress. The school has a recent history of Good and Outstanding Ofsted judgements.

You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team ; Lansdowne is a supportive working and learning environment where professional develpoment is highly valued and where practice is consistently reviewed to ensure the young people receive the best possible opportunities. The school is part of the broader Sabden Multi Academy Trust, which makes provision for children and young people with severe and complex social, emotional, mental health difficulties (SEMH) in East Sussex.

The post is initially 3 days per week and would include, for the correct candidate, a TLR for accreditation and over-seeing of the assessment process.
