About the Role
Lecturer B/Co-ordinator – Construction & Built Environment (Civil Engineering)
Actual pro rata salary from 12,048.50 to 17,145.50 per annum (for 18.5 hours per week).
The Construction Department at Sussex Downs College has part-time vacancies for professionals in construction/planning/civil engineering to teach advanced level students and apprentices as part of our successful Construction and the Built Environment provision. We require people with experience and skills in the following areas: Construction related surveying, Site Management, Setting Out, Quantity Surveying, Mathematics for Construction and Civil Engineering. The post will involve up to 3 days’ teaching (approximately 15 hours per week class contact) and will require course and lesson planning, delivery and assessment. The study programme is based around the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment. Students are a mix of full-time and apprentice learners; many use the course as a stepping-stone to higher study. The ideal candidate will have a level 4 or higher qualification in a related subject areas and will enjoy working with young people. This post may be combined with the assessor post for the right candidate.
