Based in Littlehampton
Interview date: 13th June 2017

Through the Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help System, we will work with children, families, and young people to help ensure that every child, family and young person is supported to achieve his or her potential. The foundations for future mental health, emotional control, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place in the early years and the home surroundings, family life and parenting are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future.
The National Citizen Service (NCS) is an essential personal development experience for all 16-17 year olds, providing an opportunity to build skills for work and life while taking on new challenges. The programme actively encourages inclusion and supports vulnerable young people to participate. These young people and their families will frequently need added support to access the full experience.
The programme helps young people build confidence, mix with different social groups and contribute to their community. Young people will have the chance to make new friends, go on residential experiences and make a difference within their local area.
Programmes take place outside of school/college hours and have been specifically designed to develop skills that employers and UCAS value.
The WSCC NCS team specifically co-ordinate and deliver the NCS programme across the Midhurst, Arun and Chichester areas of West Sussex during the summer and autumn.
The team have the responsibility to support young people across West Sussex to enable them to access the other NCS local providers who deliver in Crawley, Mid Sussex, Horsham, Worthing and Adur so that all West Sussex young people can access and get involved.
The NCS Recruitment and Engagement Worker is a lead professional role that is committed to providing and coordinating support for young people and their families on a regular basis. Their role is to deliver all aspects of the NCS Programme from recruitment through delivery to completion and graduation. They will work with schools to support young people, especially those with additional needs, to access and take part in the programme.
