About the Role

If the answer to these three questions is yes then you are the person we are looking for.

An exciting opportunity to develop day time activities for adult’s with learning disabilities is now available at Grangemead Respite Service.

This is a 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave.

Grangemead is a Respite Service for adults with a Learning Disability in Hailsham. It has recently been refurbished to a high standard offering a hotel style service. Most of our bedrooms have en-suite rooms and excellent facilities for our guests. We have interactive Sensory Equipment and the latest in Assistive Technology to enhance the experience of guests staying with us.

As part of the respite service Grangemead offers ‘Branching Out’ a fun holiday experience for long and short respite stays where they promote life skills, independence, community activities and opportunities to meet with friends.

Grangemead also offers a service for guests requiring emergency respite who need somewhere safe and comfortable to stay due a personal crisis.

The successful candidate will be joining a highly skilled and motivated staff team and have support through induction, training and regular supervision.

The role will be full of variety. No two days will be the same in this rewarding role.

The working hours are Mon- Fri 9am -4.30pm.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
