As Principal Planning Officer, you will be widely recognised for your expert knowledge and insight. You’ll respond to complex queries and advise a host of stakeholders. We will look to you to commission and provide compelling advice on all kinds of local conservation and planning issues. You’ll also be responsible for assessing and making recommendations on diverse Planning activities. Enjoying a broad remit, you’ll always have a new challenge to get stuck into - from managing a small team of DM planners responding to formal complaints, through to preparing key planning documents, and presenting reports to committee. As well as handling a caseload of planning applications, you’ll lead on delivering projects. To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need demonstrable technical knowledge of planning, together with a relevant specialist qualification or membership. Significant experience in a related professional role is essential. A skilled problem solver, you'll have a proven ability to think in innovative ways and ensure even the tightest deadlines are met.
