About the Role

Rye Community Primary School is located in the historic and picturesque town of Rye. As part of Rye Academy Trust the Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced KS2 teacher with a clear vision and a determination to support our Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in leading our school towards Outstanding. Our pupils want the successful applicant to start in September 2017.

The school is an architecturally acclaimed purpose built primary school which opened in 2008. There are currently 429 pupils on roll, including the Pugwash Nursery. The rapid expansion of our school has necessitated an extension which was recently completed giving us 2 purpose built Year 6 classrooms, a new staff room and Nursery.

The governors are looking for someone who: • Has a proven experience of Key Stage 2 and is keen to be supported by an excellent team. • Is passionate about getting the best from all our children through consistent, high quality teaching, ensuring outstanding attainment. • Embraces a challenge and strives for the best. • Is committed to the school, its pupils and the community. • Has enthusiasm for creativity and innovation throughout the curriculum. • Influences, motivates and inspires others to attain high goals. • Is an excellent communicator, who can build strong partnerships with parents and the wider community. • Is dedicated to inclusion and a child’s right to participate.

We invite you to become a part of: • A team of enthusiastic teachers and support staff, with supportive parents and a Governing Body who are committed to continuous school improvement. • A school where every child really does matter. • A nurturing environment in which children enjoy school, are keen to learn and are eager to take part in activities which promote outstanding learning.

We welcome visits to our school, please contact Sue Ball in the school office for an appointment.

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System. From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits. The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
