Income Recovery Assistant based at County Hall, Lewes

This role sits within the Accounts Receivable team in Lewes who are part of our Business Operations Department in Orbis. The Accounts Receivable team raise 71,000 invoices to the value of 71m ranging from client contributions, rents and leases, damages to street furniture and other sundry income and allocate 100,000 payments. Our team consists of over 50 people who operate flexibly within an agile environment to make best use of our office space e.g. the majority of the team use laptops enabling them to work from home 1-day a week and some work a 9-day fortnight.

 Our goals/recent achievements within the Accounts Receivable team are:

- Reduce the outstanding debt position

- Increase the number of invoices paid by direct debit

- Improved aged debt reporting and monitoring

- Auto allocation of payments received

We are looking for one full-time Income Recovery Assistant to join this team and be a part of our future. Your main responsibilities will be to:

- Raise invoices within the SAP and ContrOCC financial systems

- Recover and allocate income due to the County Council

- Deal with queries arising from outstanding debts

To succeed in this role you’ll be a great communicator with good MS Office skills and possess an eye for detail along with a real passion for delivering awesome customer service in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Your ability to remain calm under pressure whilst working to tight deadlines within a team environment will be essential. To be shortlisted for this position your application will clearly evidence how you meet the person specification of the attached job description including:

- Financial systems experience with excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills.

 -Ability and experience of communicating clearly and concisely at all levels.

 -Ability to approach work methodically whilst being flexible and prioritising as required.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
