About the Role

East Sussex Registration are looking for a self motivated, customer friendly individual to join the Lewes Register Office Team in providing first class registration and ceremonial services. Lewes Register Office has recently moved back into the grade II listed Southover Grange after a massive refurbishment project. We have worked to preserve the unique character of this much loved building whilst also making it a fully functional, accessible, twenty-first century register office and central hub for the administration of ceremonies across the westerns half of the county. Could you help us make this the number one ceremony venue in the south east?

The right person will be able to provide reliable, friendly and accurate registration of life events such as births, deaths and marriages. They will learn quickly, be organised and work well within a team of skilled registration officers, making bookings and providing administration of ceremonies. They will show empathy and understanding to people dealing with emotional extremes, whether registering the death of a loved one or celebrating a marriage. They will have a good telephone manor and be able to work to deadlines in a pressured environment, giving our customers the best possible service.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
