45 hours per week | 5 days over 7 | Permanent, full-time

We’re looking for a reliable and professional Night Porter to join our Front Office team at The Mandolay Hotel, a four-star hotel in Guildford.

As a Night Porter, you’ll help provide a smooth, safe and efficient overnight service while maintaining our high standards of guest care and customer service. This is a permanent, full-time position working 45 hours per week across five days out of seven, including weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and professional welcome to guests arriving during the night
  • Complete late guest check-ins and assist with early departures
  • Use Oracle OPERA Cloud Property Management System to manage reservations, guest profiles, check-ins, check-outs and hotel records
  • Carry out a thorough handover with the Reception and Front Office teams at the start and end of each shift
  • Respond to guest enquiries, requests and concerns throughout the night
  • Maintain the security and safety of the hotel, guests and team members
  • Carry out regular security and fire safety checks
  • Assist with the preparation of public areas and meeting rooms when required
  • Complete general night porter and front-of-house duties
  • Support the Night Manager and Front Office Manager with the smooth running of the hotel overnight

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Night Porter, Hotel Receptionist, Night Auditor or in a similar hotel role is desirable
  • Previous experience using Oracle OPERA Cloud or another hotel property management system is desirable
  • A good standard of spoken and written English
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A friendly, calm and professional manner
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good attention to detail and reliability
  • Confidence working overnight shifts and dealing with guests

  • £15.72 per hour, including holiday pay
