The Music Curriculum Lead will work within the Teaching and Learning Management team at Dv8 to develop the music curriculum from Levels 1-3, oversee the quality of delivery and assessment and lead and support a team of 5 vocational music tutors at Dv8 Brighton and Bexhill. They will also teach one day per week on Brighton’s Intermediate Music Production course.   The Course curriculum in Music for 15/16 include, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Music in Bexhill and Intermediate Music in Brighton. We plan to work with approximately 50 students across the 4 cohorts.

Key Responsibilities   Curriculum Planning          Co-ordinate and lead on curriculum planning for all music production courses, ensuring that each curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students, and provides clear planning for assessment, internal verification and progression        Ensuring all course curricula are designed in line with Dv8’s ethos of experiential, industry led learning, and meets the criteria set out by awarding bodies and within Study Programme funding guidelines        Liaise with IQA and Head of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (Head of TLA) to sign off curriculum prior to each academic years planning deadline.        Ensure that student profile information from the admissions process is used to develop and inform curriculum design.   Staff Management          Line-manage course tutors, holding staff supervision and appraisals, identifying staff support and training needs through carrying out PDRs (Personal Development Records), and working with the Head of TLA to put in place clear CPD strategies for each staff member.        To create a positive climate and set high expectations for the course team in relation to standards of student attendance achievement and the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.        To ensure all tutors meet course objectives for the year as agreed with Head of TLA        To advise and guide team members on teaching, learning and assessment strategies to meet the needs of individual client groups        To arrange, conduct and record regular subject area team meetings.        Where under performance is identified against organisational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), either in individual staff members or across any course area, put in place clear plan of support and actions for improvement with timescales and measures of success. This must show demonstrable impact on the learner’s progress and achievement.
