About the Role

St Wilfrid’s hospice is a local charity providing skilled and compassionate care and treatment for all patients with complex needs as they near the end of life.   Our vision is of a community where people talk openly about dying, live well until the end of their life and where nobody dies alone, afraid or in pain

We are looking to recruit a part-time driver to work within our Wellbeing service. You will be working 2 days per week, with another driver covering the other 3 days.

This role will involve transporting patients and family members to and from the hospice for appointments and clinic attendances. You will be accompanied on the journeys by a volunteer and you will be first aid trained or willing to work towards this qualification within your first three months in the post.

You will also be required to jointly co-ordinate our volunteer driving team, allocating them their journeys throughout the week.

The successful candidate will be organised, have excellent interpersonal skills and, due to the nature of the role, be able to remain calm in a variety of situations.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
