The City is one of the key growth centres of the South East. The City Plan Part One was adopted in March 2016. Work on the City Plan Part Two is now well underway. You will lead this work and inspire staff to create a positive planning context for the City to enable growth and economic regeneration. This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the Planning service helps to deliver the city’s future ambitions whilst safeguarding and celebrating the City’s rich built heritage. In addition to the City Plan the Planning Policy team is responsible for: • Joint work with adjacent planning authorities in the Greater Brighton area • Heritage matters - Conservation areas (number) and listed buildings (number) • Project work and design advice • Minerals and waste • The development of CIL • Planning advice notes/supplementary planning guidance and planning briefs • European projects You will be part of a dynamic and well-motivated management team reporting to the Head of Planning Service and will have the opportunity to shape the future direction and performance of the wider service
