The University is seeking a confident, flexible, self-motivated person who will provide our students and other guests the very highest level of experience by providing a consistently high professional, welcoming, supportive and informative environment. The active role encapsulates administrative, reception and housekeeping services to students, staff and visitors.

You’ll need to be able to respond quickly and positively to queries and coordinate planned and reactive services on a daily basis actively enhancing the service for both students and external customers. Required to operate at any of our accommodation sites, but primarily based at our Fishbourne Road East Hall of Residence, it is essential that you are comfortable working alone and have the ability and confidence to successfully operate at a satellite accommodation development with minimal supervision. A first aid qualification will be needed for this role and full training will be given to the successful applicant.

You’ll need to be able to able to provide pastoral support to students and guests including the ability to cope with emergencies and make effective decisions under pressure. Types of responsibilities include: inspecting our halls of residence to ensure the safety and cleanliness of our property, both while students are resident and during our busy conference period over the summer months; the coordination of facilities and services on a daily basis to ensure all legislative obligations and associated codes of practice are met and supporting and helping to deal with queries or problems.

It’s essential you have a good general education, with customer related qualification or significant practical knowledge / experience together with the ability to communicate successfully with a range of people by email, face to face and by telephone. Working hours are Monday to Friday each week but occasional weekend work will to required support events, such as open days, student arrivals, and arrivals and departure weekends.

This role is based at our Fishbourne Road East Halls of Residence, Chichester.
