About the Role

The exciting challenges of this role include the delivery of active travel initiatives across East Sussex, as part of a range of walking and cycling projects that make up the County Council’s Active Access for Growth programme. The programme will work with key client groups, including those participating in Workforce Development Programmes, pupils at schools/colleges during transition periods, community groups and referrals through health practitioners. It will in particular include walking and cycling challenges and the promotion of the East Sussex Community Grant Fund for small scale local walking and cycling projects.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of delivering physical activity or other behaviour change projects, engaging with schools, workplaces and/or community groups and a wide range of partners. You will also be experienced in leading group workshops, organising events and of building successful working relationships. Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your strong written and verbal communication skills will complement your excellent interpersonal skills. IT literacy is essential as is an understanding of the health benefits of active travel and your commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport. DSB Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
