Development plans for Shoreham Harbour have been revealed and locals are being asked their views on the proposed plans. If all goes ahead successfully, this could see nearly 1500 new homes built as well as new employment space, which will offer more job opportunities to locals in and around the Brighton area. Shoreham Harbour is a major employer in the area and by transforming the port, the local economy will receive a massive boost.

Nothing is currently set in stone and reviews of the plans will take place over the course of the next 10 weeks. Throughout this period, all councils involved will be relying on feedback from locals to help highlight areas that still need further thought. A final development plan is scheduled to be released in 2015.

The development plans for Shoreham Harbour have evolved from recognising it as a key organisation in the local area. It desperately needs developing to ensure it is fulfilling its true potential, and by creating plans for sustainable development, the port land will be utilized fully providing new jobs and homes in the area.
