Bupa Global in Brighton has announced 170 jobs are to go as part of a company reorganisation. Jobs in Brighton will be cut and overseas locations will be expanded, despite the business making a huge profit the previous year.
The news has come as a great upset for staff employed at the Brighton office, who feel they have been treated unfairly and with very little compassion. Many members of staff have worked for the business for a good number of years, only to now find themselves now facing redundancy.
The company currently employs around 750 staff in their Brighton office, but this will be reduced significantly as a result of these latest job losses. Certain people facing redundancy have reported that the packages on offer just aren’t substantial enough when considering the amount of time and hard work put into the company by its staff.
The job cuts have caused a major upset and have left staff feeling anxious, uncertain and incredibly emotional. Bupa Global has tried to find new roles for a number of it staff, but regretfully 170 jobs must go as part of the restructure.
The firm has said it will support staff that are facing job cuts, and has thanked them for their commitment and hard work; a very minor consolation, given the uncertain future many staff face.
