It was recently announced that residents across Brighton and Hove could potentially face an increase in Council tax payments, in an attempt to bridge the current funding gap of over £25 million.

It was also revealed that up to 250 jobs in Brighton could be cut due to budget cuts throughout the council. It is anticipated that costs will rise throughout the city due to an increase in demand for services, as well as inflation amongst other factors.

Final decisions on the council tax increase and job cuts will be made in early 2015. In the mean time Brighton Council employees and local residents are facing an uncertain future. Watch this space for further details in the New Year.
