The University of Brighton has won funding for education worth £92,000. The funding is destined to assist locals businesses develop staff on their own premises through bespoke training.

Local employers will also be offered “training vouchers” worth up to £500 to pay for individual members of staff to attend training courses / sessions. The training courses offered will include business and management, engineering and design, health and social care and IT.

Executive director at the Brighton and Hove Economic Partnership, Tony Mernagh, said: “It’s quite a coup to get any sort of grant funding these days, and I am sure that there will be a good take-up. The University of Brighton has a good reputation for working with businesses of all sizes, and I can see this appealing particularly to SMEs.”
