Brighton and Hove’s sustainable action plan officially received accreditation from BioRegional and has become the world's first One Planet Living City.

BioRegional agreed the Brighton and Hove Council’s plans to achieve a more sustainable city will help residents live well within a fairer share of the Earth’s resources.

Brighton and Hove Council’s Leader, Jason Kitcat, said: “Together we can boost the local economy, become more resistant to price hikes in energy, fuel and food, and foster a more equal and healthy city.”

Among the One Planet achievements the Brighton and Hove Council’s has highlighted are: improving insulation to resident’s homes, communal recycling and introducing pool bikes for those working in jobs in the public sector in Brighton and Hove.
